How I shop at Taobao.

I received too many emails and formspring questions asking how I shop at Taobao.
I used to be a retard at this so I understand how you feel.

Nobody actually taught me how to buy from Taobao, but some followers told me that a certain agent is a good Singapore Taobao agent.
The reason why I don't want to reveal which agent I use is because I'm afraid that their agent fee is a tad bit more expensive (I have yet tried other agent, this is the only agent I'd tried.). Also, I can't be 100% sure with you that it is definitely safe and is problem-free.
I spent around $40 below for my first try. I didn't want to spend a lot because I couldn't trust this agent since I haven't purchased anything with their help yet.

Apparently, agent is something that will help you purchase from overseas websites. You can't purchase directly from Taobao as we don't have china bank card or something. Taobao doesn't have paypal and everything else that we have, so it's not possible to purchase directly from there.
An agent will help us purchase from that country, and ship over to Singapore for you.
Hence, you need to pay them an agent fee for helping you do all that, and also shipping fees.
This is just MY OWN explanation. Like, that's what I know.

Now, on to Taobao.
Many asked how to search from the search bar if you don't read chinese.
Actually, there are some pictures on the site, you can click on them if you like.
I usually browse by seeing the pictures as well because I don't like reading those small chinese words.
If you want to be more specific, you can still type English on the search bar!
Or maybe google translate what you want into Chinese and paste it at the Search bar!

For Singapore Taobao Agent, you can google "Singapore Taobao Agent" and there will be lots of results. Check which is more trustable. Perhaps you'll like to do a 'test' try first.

Very simple & kind of scary 'cause it's not exactly 100% safe. Depends on the seller, really.

Advantages for shopping on Taobao is that the stuff there are REALLY CHEAP. By cheap I mean it is REALLY cheap. Like $5 for a super nice Japanese-looking top. With shipping it will be around $8? I don't know but it's still very affordable and worth it.

Disadvantages are you don't know how the item will look like. Also, the seller might be fake or something. AND it takes pretty long. Shipping might be quite expensive as well.

Good luck, bye!

  1. Hi, saw your post on your experience with local Taobao agent in Singapore. May I know which Taobao agent you buy from frequently? Is it peeka, chinabuysg, 65daigou or ??

  2. Hi there! Perphap you would like to visit my website We are taobao purchasing agent and we provide relative low shipping fee to customers as compared to other agents across sg.. Not to worry abt scam as I'm a Singaporean thus I know how it feels the best.

  3. Great share OP! Just wanted to let everyone know there is an even more simple way to this.

Check out and they don't charge a service fee if you're in Australia.

  4. hi, don't use taoabao if you don't want to lose your money, this site is full of cheaters and liars and it doesn't care about it. they sell fake goods, contraband and steal money, i just lost my money there, i wanted to buy some shoes and after i paid the guy deleted his homepage and just dissappeared, and even i wrote several e-mails to the admins of taoabo they said they can't do anything and they don't care.
so if you don't want to waste your money stay away from!!!

  5. i have personally use this for Singapore..just copy and paste the links in taobao and give them (You have to know Chinese) , they will order for you and ship direct to your house (Very good customer service)
More for entertaining business customer that want to import more items to Singapore and sell(Bulk purchase)..they will quote me different shipping options and price after receiving at their warehouse (the shipping is very affordable compare to other agent i used before)

For me, i buy over $1000sgd every month ..
If i pay by posb credit card and buy myself, it will cost more service charge about 8% including exchange rate and i need alot of effort to communicate with seller in chinese)
Their charge 5% is very reasonable for large orders

    This is their facebook

    Hope it helps :)
